AMVETS Spirit of America Youth Conference

Home» AMVETS Spirit of America Youth Conference

On Nov. 1, 2012, 108 tenth and eleventh graders arrived at the AMVETS Spirit of America Youth Conference at Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge, Penn. Sponsored by AMVETS National Service Foundation and State Departments across the country, these high school students participated in activities centered around American history and civics. Freedoms Foundation was founded in 1949 and has provided educational programs to both youth and teachers, attempting to encourage a healthy interest in history and appreciation for American symbols, such as the Declaration of Independence. At a closing ceremony on Nov. 4, 2012, Past National Commander and National Service Foundation President William Boettcher dedicated a new carillon and Past National Commander Gary L. Fry presented $68,441.05 to Freedoms Foundation on behalf of AMVETS. Your generous donations as AMVETS members will allow Freedoms Foundation to continue their programs and dedication to educating America’s youth.
