AMVETS often partners with other veteran/ uniformed service organizations and other organizations which can assist in promoting veterans issues in larger sometimes broader voice to express our concerns to Congress.
For 20 years AMVETS has been a partner in developing the Independent Budget, which annually presents policy and budget recommendations on programs administered by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) and the Department of Labor.
Believing the American flag is sacred and is a symbol which should be honored, AMVETS sits on the Board of Directors for the Citizen Flag Alliance (CFA). The CFA is a group of over 140 organizations which support an amendment to the Constitution stating: “The Congress shall have the power to prohibit the physical desecration of the flag of the United States.”
The Military Coalition is a group of 35 veterans and uniformed service organizations with the goal of maintaining a strong national defense by recruiting and maintaining highly trained and professional service members in all seven of the uniformed services.
