AMVETS – DEVRY UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE APPROACHING

WASHINGTON, Feb. 1 2008—The deadline for the 2008 AMVETS/DeVry University scholarship is Friday, Feb. 15. Veterans, their family members and children are encouraged to apply for one of the 10 scholarships offered for spring semester 2008.

In 2007, AMVETS partnered with DeVry and the Keller Graduate School of Management to provide up to 30 scholarships per year at a value of up to $9,000 each toward a degree program. The scholarships will be worth up to $1,000 per semester.

The scholarships are offered to coincide with the start of each semester at DeVry and the Keller School. Additional deadlines for 2008 scholarships are June 16 for the summer and October 6 for the fall.

DeVry started the program as a way to honor veterans their families by affording them this unique education opportunity.

Scholarships may be applied to undergraduate and graduate programs at both DeVry and Keller for online and on-site programs. Applicants are eligible for scholarships every semester of enrollment up to $9,000 over the course of a degree plan.

Each applicant must submit an essay, a copy of an eligible DD-214, a resume, a letter of recommendation and their most-recent completed tax return.

AMVETS has long been a proponent of veterans’ higher education, offering a variety of scholarship programs to veterans and their family members.
