AMVETS AND AMVETS LADIES AUXILIARY BID FAREWELL TO PAST NATIONAL PRESIDENT MARIA MILLER
Dec. 20, 2009 - AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Past National President Maria “Cookie” Miller, 88, of Grandville, Mich., passed away, leaving a legacy of more than 50 years of selfless service to the Auxiliary and her community.

Maria had served for many years as the secretary for Grandville 1st Reformed Church and will be especially remembered for her service to the Amvets National Ladies Auxiliary. The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans honored her for 50 years of service to the Auxiliary. Throughout her fifty years with the Auxiliary, she served as Local, Department of Michigan, and National President of its organization, as well as being named the 2001 Member of the Year.
